KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said that children will not be promoted in the next classes without examinations this year.
A meeting of the four provincial education ministers was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood in which the current situation of coronavirus was discussed in detail regarding the closure of schools.
In the meeting, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that all educational institutions should not be closed. If this is to be done, then primary schools with an enrollment of 73% should be closed.
He suggested in the meeting that all classes of class 6 and above should be continued while it was not decided to take the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth examinations in May and June.
He said that the schools which want to impart online education should continue their education online but if the parents do not want to send their children to school then the school should be banned from taking action against these children.
The provincial education minister said that all non-teaching activities in educational institutions should be stopped completely this year.
Saeed Ghani also said that this year children will not be promoted to the next classes without examinations.
The Sindh Education Minister further said that small private schools should be given loans on easy terms from banks for financial relief. Along with schools, we should also include tuition and coaching centers in it.
