The Islamabad administration has fined thirty people for not wearing the masks in public.
Anyone who is found without a mask will be levied a Rs3,000 fine, Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat declared in a tweet on May 31. He said that strict implementation of the law would be enforced by local administration.
Saturday, Assistant Commissioner Sidra Anwar visited stores to ensure that SOPs were observed. In Islamabad, 83 markets and 22 warehouses were sealed over violations.
“We have placed ‘No Mask, No Service’ signs outside shops,” Anwar said, adding that if a shopkeeper takes all the precautionary measures but customers are not, the customer will be fined in that case.
At least 4,323 known cases of the novel coronavirus were reported along with 45 deaths in Islamabad.
