LAHORE: Punjab Education Department has announced not to take practicals in Matriculation and Intermediate examinations next year.
According to the notification, the Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen has made a final decision not to conduct the practical examination. The notification related to practicals will be applicable to education boards across Punjab.
Practical’s numbers will be given based on the marks of theory. Officials say the decision not to take the practice was made in accordance with the promotion policy in mind.
Due to the increase in the spread of the corona epidemic, teaching activities in educational institutions have been suspended once again. These provinces will decide when to take the exams.
In Punjab, examinations for Class IX to XII will be held in May or June. The Punjab Schools Education Department has issued a formula for passing children from nursery to eighth standard.
It has been decided that progress in the next class will now be based on homework. Children will not be promoted to the next grade if they do not complete homework.
During the holidays, faculty members will visit institutions two days a week. Fifty percent of teachers will be present on Monday and 50 percent on Thursday.
