Progress has been made in the matter of compulsory coronavirus tests for teachers and students before the opening of educational institutions.
Punjab government has made it clear that there is no pre-requisite for the corona test that has been laid down.
Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman has written an explanatory letter to the concerned institutions stating that there is no requirement for the Punjab government to bring test reports of teachers and children.
Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman clarified that a comprehensive strategy has been formulated for testing of educational institutions and random sampling will be done once in 15 days from every educational institution in high-risk districts.
He further said that there is no requirement of any test other than random sampling at the government level and no educational institution other than the government level has the authority to demand reports from teachers or students.
