ISLAMABAD: In the High Court, Deputy Attorney General Raja Khalid Mahmood has said that Roosevelt Hotels are not selling or privatizing.
Justice Amir Farooq of Islamabad High Court has disposed of the petition after the statement of the federation. The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday heard a petition seeking a stay of privatization of the PIA-owned Roosevelt Hotel in the United States.
Deputy Attorney General Raja Khalid Mahmood said that Roosevelt is not selling or privatizing the hotel. Justice Amir Farooq disposed of the petition after the statement of the federation.
Mahmood said that the government is considering how to make its use profitable, the government is appointing an advisor on how to make the hotel profitable in the future.
Justice Amir Farooq questioned Raja Khalid that a joint venture was not taking place at the Roosevelt Hotel. To which he replied that there was no such thing yet, it was just the news in the newspapers.
Lawyer Sharif Sabir had filed the petition in the Islamabad High Court through Mian Ghaffar Advocate. The petitioner said that every time there was an attempt to sell or privatize the Roosevelt Hotel, Zulfi Bukhari wanted to buy Roosevelt cheaply through the frontman, he was trying to take advantage of a special group due to its proximity to the Prime Minister.
The petition sought an order from the court restraining the government from selling or privatizing the Roosevelt Hotel. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari and Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan were made parties in the petition.
