Testing capacity for coronavirus enhanced to 1,000 per day in KP: CM Mahmood
ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday said the testing capacity for coronavirus had been enhanced to one thousand per day in the province.
Speaking at a news briefing in Peshawar, he said efforts were being made to increase the corona testing capacity to five thousand per day.
Mahmood Khan appealed the people to cooperate with the government to contain the spread of corona virus. “Corona suspects are being quarantined where best health facilities are being provided to them,” he said.
The chief minister lauded frontline workers for their services in the current scenario. He said that strict action would be taken against hoarders and profiteers.
49 KP hospitals receive safety equipment
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority has sent safety equipment to 49 hospitals across the province.
According to the Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the equipment for medical staff included N-95 masks, gloves, face shields and sanitizers and other related items. He said emergency center of the PDMA was actively operating round the clock and people could contact toll free number 0800 01700 in emergency situation.
