Tehreek-e-Labaik’s Ashraf Jalali transferred to jail on 14-day judicial remand

LAHORE: A local court in the capital of Punjab province, has sent Dr. Ashraf Asif Jalali, the leader of Tehreek-e-Labaik’s own faction, to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

According to local police, a case was registered against the accused at Samanabad police station on the 18th of last month for allegedly insulting holy religious figures.

FIR was sealed after the case was registered. Police had arrested accused Dr. Ashraf Asif Jalali in connection with the interrogation yesterday.

Last month, a video of Dr. Ashraf Jalali went viral on social media in which he was found discussing a religious issue. There was a problem with the claims made by him regarding the interpretation of this religious issue and many religious personalities demanded that the law enforcement agencies take notice of it.
