Medical board constituted to examine Asif Zardari’s health

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has constituted a medical board to examine health condition of former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Seeking the medical report, the court has extended transitory bail of the former president till Jan 28 in suspicious transactions case, which was being heard by Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiani.
During the hearing, Zardari’s counsel Farooq H Naek argued that his client was admitted to a hospital in Karachi for treatment and he was already given bail on medical ground in two cases. He apprised the court that both the verdicts were of the same day which were present on the record.
Justice Aamer Farooq said that he would direct to form the medical board and wait for its report. However, he asked that what disease Zardari was suffering from. To which, he replied that he was a cardiac and diabetic patient and he also had chronic pain in his back.
On Sept 28, an accountability court of Islamabad had indicted former president Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and Abdul Ghani Majeed in a mega money laundering case.
Majeed and Tarlpur were present in the court room while the indictment was made, however, the suspects have denied the allegations on them.
