Target of one million vaccinations in a day achieved: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Tuesday said that the target of one million vaccinations in a day had been achieved.
In a tweet, he said, “Ten lakh and seventy two thousand vaccinations were carried out yesterday.” He commended the performance of all the federating units to achieve the milestone.
The minister for planning said Islamabad had become the first city in Pakistan with a population of one million or more to get 50 percent of its eligible population vaccinated with at least one dose.

35% of the eligible population has been vaccinated in Peshawar and Rawalpindi, 28% in Faislabad, 27% in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Sargodha, 26% in Karachi and 25% in Hyderabad, he maintained.
Sixty seven more deaths due to Coronavirus and 3,582 new positive cases of the infection have been reported in the country during the last 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 49,798 tests were conducted while positivity ratio remained 7.19 percent.
