T20 World Cup: Pakistan to clash with South Africa in must-win match today

Pakistan will hit the SCG ground today [Thursday] at 1pm (PST) in a must-win clash against South Africa to make any chance for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022.

Today’s match is the quarter final for both the teams as if South Africa wins, it will directly reach to the semi-finals, while if Pakistan wins, its chances of reaching the semi-finals will remain until the last match.

So far in the history of T20 World Cup, Pakistan and South Africa have faced each other 3 times, but Pakistan has been victorious all three times.

Pakistan’s hope to Semi Finals:

In the Super 12 stage, India and South Africa have played their 4 matches out of which India has won 3 matches and is on the first place with 6 points and South Africa is on the second place with 5 points.

If South Africa wins, Pakistan will be out of the event and the Protease will book their ticket to the semi-finals.

If Pakistan defeats South Africa, it will also get 6 points and the decision will depend on the next must-win match against Bangladesh.

If Pakistan wins both the matches, then the green team’s destiny will depend on the rain in the last match of South Africa, in which case Pakistan will reach to the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2022.
