Suspect shot dead in court for alleged blasphemy

PESHAWAR: A suspect of blasphemy was shot dead in a session court room in Peshawar on Wednesday.

The firing incident took place before Additional Session Judge Shokat Ali, while hearing the case of blasphemy. The suspect was arrested from the court room. He shot the alleged blasphemer after snatching gun from a police official.

Sources said the dead suspect, Tahir Ahmad, was a Qadiyani and hailed from Pashtakhra area of the city. While, the one who gunned him down, Khalid, belonged to Board Bazaar. The murderer has admitted to his crime.
