Supreme Court orders to demolish Nasla Tower right away

Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has shown displeasure over the Nasla Tower report submitted by Commissioner Karachi during the bench hearing on Wednesday (today).

The hearing was headed by Chief Justice of Supreme Court (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed. CJP showed his resentment over the delay of Nasla Tower’s demolition. CJP stated, ” You will be sent directly to jail.”

Justice Gulzar instructed Commissioner Karachi that if he is unable to perform his duties then he should resign from his post.

Commissioner Karachi apologized in front of the top court for the delay in demolition.

The Supreme Court has ordered to demolish Nasla Tower immediately and submit the report along with the pictures in the court by afternoon.

Previously, the process for the pre-demolition of Nasla Tower started on Monday night but it was stopped over the security concerns for the passerby.

Nasla Tower is located at Shahrah-e-Faisal which is one of the busiest roads of Karachi even late at night.

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) planned to demolish grills, doors and windows of the apartments in the pre-demolition process.

However, Asma Batool, Ferozabad Assistant Commissioner instructed the department to stop the pre-demolition work over the security of the passerby.
