Supreme Court receives copy of alleged threatening letter

ISLAMABAD: The office of Chief Justice of Pakistan has received a copy of the alleged threatening letter.
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri had announced in the House at a day of voting on no-confidence motion that he was sending a copy of the alleged threatening letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
Sources said that after the announcement of the Deputy Speaker, a copy of the sealed letter was sent to the Chief Justice of Pakistan by the Secretary Assembly which was received by the Secretary to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
According to sources, a copy of the alleged letter will be submitted to the Chief Justice.
Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri also confirmed the submission of threatening letter to the Supreme Court.
Recently, after being elected Leader of the House, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had announced an in-camera briefing on the alleged threatening letter.
