ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday ordered the reopening of shopping malls across the country.
A five member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmad was hearing a suo motu case regarding measures taken against the Covid-19.
The apex court also ordered that all the small markets should remain open to public on the weekends.
The National Disaster Management Authority presented its report before the court during the hearing. The hearing of the case has been adjourned till Tuesday.
Meanwhile, talking to President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mian Anjum Nisar and Vice Presidents Dr. Muhammad Arshad and Qaisar Khan in Islamabad on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the government has to maintain a balance between economic activities and preventive measures against Coronavirus pandemic.
The prime minister said the government had allowed industries to continue work; however, industrialists should ensure implementation of preventive measures against Coronavirus.
The president FPCCI presented the PM a cheque of 20 million rupees for Corona Relief Fund.
