Supply of milk and meat is likely to be affected due to the alarming skin disease of Cattle Livestock
Karachi: Cows and buffaloes are at risk of serious skin disease, supply of milk and meat is likely to be affected.
The skin disease is spreading in other districts of Sindh as well. Dairy farmers are unaware of the disease and are unaware of the treatment and medicines too. The supply of milk and meat in the city has been affected.
The Dairy Farmers Association wrote a letter to the President asking for help.
Medical experts have termed the disease as a skin disease and in this disease chicken pox is rapidly appearing on the body of the animal.
The animal begins to weaken due to disease, loss of milk production is causing irreparable loss to the farmer.
Secretary Dairy Farmers Association Shaukat Mukhtar appealed to the President for help and said that immediate steps should be taken otherwise the disease would spread in the country.
There are about 1 million animals in different buffalo enclosures and dairy farms in Karachi.
