Superhighway Accident: Bus driver’s negligence kills five

KARACHI: Five people were killed and more than 20 others were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a trailer near Nooriabad on the Super Highway.
According to rescue sources, the bus was going from Karachi to Khairpur when it met with an accident near Nooriabad on the Super Highway.
Women and children were also among the injured in the accident. The dead and injured belong to Ancholi area of Karachi.
According to rescue sources, the injured have been shifted to Kotri Taluka Hospital.
Police said that the accident took place near Nooriabad on the Super Highway. took place due to negligence of the bus driver. The passengers of the affected bus were on their way to visit holy places in Sindh.
On the other hand, Iqbal, the owner of the trailer, told that the bus hit the trailer from behind. The driver and the cleaner were present in the trailer, but nothing was known about them.
The owner of the trailer said that other drivers said that the bus driver was trying to overtake which caused the accident.

Earlier in July, at least 27 were killed while 80 reportedly injured after bus carrying passengers collided with a trailer truck near Taunsa By-Pass, Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan).
According to media reports, the passenger bus was travelling to Sialkot from Rajanpur when it met an accident.
The dead and the injured were later transferred to the district hospital by rescue teams.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has expressed grief over the DG Khan bus incident. “Bus accident for those travelling to homes on Eid is not less than a doomsday,” said the minister.
In a similar incident, seven people of a same family, including two women and three children, were killed when an overspeeding truck collided with a private car near Burewala.
The bodies were first shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities before handing them over to the heirs of the victims.
