Sultans vanquish Lahore Qalandars by 80 runs
In the 28th match of the Pakistan Super League season six, Multan Sultans have beaten Lahore Qalandars by 80 runs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bat first. The Sultans finished the innings on 169 for the loss of eight wickets.
Sohaib Maqsood scored 60 runs for the Sultans while Shaheen Afridi took three wickets for the Qalandars.
In the second innings, the chasing team was bowled out for 89 against the target of 170 as Shahnawaz Dahani bagged four-wicket haul, followed by Imran Khan (three wickets) and Blessing Muzarabani (two wickets).
After winning the match, Multan Sultans stand second in the points table while the Qalandars claim the fourth position.
It was the second league stage match between the two franchises. Multan Sultans have beaten Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets on February 26 at National Stadium, Karachi.
Earlier, the PSL6 was postponed in March due to growing Covid-19 concerns in Pakistan. It was later rescheduled in United Arab Emirates which resumed on June 9.
