Suggestions to revoke Chairman NAB’s arrest warrant authority

ISLAMABAD: Opposition has proposed to limit tenure of NAB chairman for three years and revoke his arrest warrant. It was also demanded not to send a case of fewer than one billion rupees to the NAB.
Opposition demanded amendments to the NAB law. It has been proposed to extend the term of office of the Chairman NAB to 3 years and revoke his arrest warrant. The NAB Act came into force on November 16, 1999.
The opposition demanded that the tenure of the NAB chairman be reduced. The opposition also demanded that foreign accounts, legal aid and assets be removed from the NAB law.
In addition, if a person is convicted by the NAB, he can still become a member of the Assembly. A convicted person holding a public office is disqualified for 10 years. We want disqualification for 5 years.
It was demanded that the opposition wants to eliminate many cases before the year 2015, cases of fraud should be removed from the NAB and no one should be arrested till they are convicted.
