Sugar is available at Rs 90 per kg in KPK, says Kamran Bangash

Provincial Minister of KPK, Kamran Bangash on Wednesday (today) has stated that in the first phase, the shipment of 10,000 tons of sugar to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached the province. He further mentioned that the sugar has been disbursed to utility stores all across the province.
Kamran Bangash mentioned that sugar is being sold at Rs 90 per kg all across KPK province. The provincial government has directed an effective system to ensure check and balance.
On the instructions of KPK Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, Food Minister Atif Khan is monitoring the situation himself.
Provincial Minister, further said that action is being taken against the hoarders of sugar. Artificial shortage creators and hoarders will not be tolerated as there will be strict actions taken against the sugar mafia.
Earlier on November 8, directions of a crackdown against the sugar mafia were given by Prime Minister Imran Khan during a meeting addressed for price and inflation control.
The Prime Minister was briefed by the government officials that Pakistan has surplus reserves of sugar in the country. But sugar prices are going upwards because many middlemen artificially created a shortage of sugar by hoarding the stock.
Many important decisions were made in the meeting as Imran Khan has ordered the officials to make sure that Sugar Factories Control Amendment Act 2021 is being implemented against the sugar mafia.
