Students on social media demand exams cancellation

Students on Wednesday have taken Twitter by storm and started a hashtag campaign (#cancelexamspakistan2021) in the favour of cancellation of exams due to concerns over the third wave of the coronavirus in Pakistan.

The federal education minister Shafqat Mahmood on Wednesday (today) has announced that educational institutes will remain closed till Apr 11 in specific districts of Punjab and KP, including Islamabad.

However, the minister further says that the exams are going to take place as per the schedule.

Twitteratis want Shafqat Mahmood to cancel all the exams, while the country is alarmingly witnessing a spike in the COVID-19 cases, as he becomes a top trend on Twitter.

Here are some tweets making trends on social media:

He has shared the image of virtual meeting chaired by the education minister.

Meanwhile some netizens are comparing the fact that schools are closed in different districts of Punjab but not in Sindh and Balochistan.
