ISLAMABAD: Police reportedly arrested and tortured students of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad as they protested against the administration for taking physical exams on Monday.

The students of NUML and the activists of Progressive Student Federation (PRSF) took to the streets of the capital and staged a sit-in demanding the NUML’s administration to withdraw from its decision of taking on-campus exams.

Isb Police has arrested @ProgStudentsFed organizer Jamil Iqbal along with 4 other NUML students from the #StudentsRejectPhysicalExams protest after baton charging the sit-in. Peaceful protest is a fundamental right. They must be released at once. #FreeJamilIqbal #FreeNUMLstudents pic.twitter.com/N8lPe9su5q
