 Street crimes register alarming rise in Karachi in Jan-June period

The city is facing an alarming increase in the menace of street crime, about 35,000 snatching incidents have been reported in the Karachi till the period of January to June 2022.

According to sources, so far this year in Karachi, 34 citizens have been killed and 165 injured during the robbery resistance.

Besides, 183 incidents of house robberies have been reported in the city, while 424 incidents have been reported in factories, offices and shops. The number of reported incidents of street crimes is 2,043.

According to reports, mobile phones have been snatched from 11,749 citizens while stolen mobile phones are in addition.

69 vehicles were snatched from the citizens and 907 were stolen while, 19,832 motorcycles have been snatched in incidents while 1,854 have been stolen.
