QUETTA: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has sent residents of Kalat, Mastung and Ziarat in Balochistan bills worth one million rupees despite the fact that they are receiving no gas supply for the last 10 years.
The National Party Senator Mir Kabeer Shahi revealed this during a meeting of the standing committee on petroleum. Minister for Energy Omar Ayub said he would conduct investigation into the issue.
Talking to Samaa TV, the senator asked the gas supplying company that how it could charge people one million rupees for the product they never used in last 10 years.
It should be noted that the minister for energy has warned of a looming gas crisis in coming years as our resources are depleting fast. “We have only three billion cubic feet of gas remaining,” he said.
