Soldier, civilian martyred in North Waziristan suicide blast: ISPR

A Pakistan army soldier and a civilian were martyred in a suicide blast that occurred in the Miran Shah area of North Waziristan District, said the military’s media wing on Thursday.
Earlier, reports said that 14 people including nine security personnel were injured in this terrorist attack.
However, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army said that a suicide blast occurred in a general area of Miran Shah on Wednesday, December 14.
According to ISPR, a soldier, 30-year-old Havaldar Muhammad Amir and a civilian were martyred in the suicide blast, while nine others were injured.
On December 5, at least five terrorists were killed and a soldier was martyred during an intelligence-based operation in an area of North Waziristan.
According to the ISPR, there was a fierce exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists as the Pakistan Army responded effectively and brutally to the terrorists’ operations and targeted their hideouts.
In the statement issued by the spokesperson of the Pakistan Army, it was further said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists during the operation.
The ISPR said that the slain terrorists were involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent civilians.
