Society cannot progress without empowering women: Emine Erdogan

First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan stated that Pakistan and Turkey have stood by one in another through tough times.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Friday, she said the two countries have close relations, deeply immersed in the same faith, history as well as culture.

Turkey has always been at the lead of Pakistan’s public and social welfare programs, she said.
The Turkish First Lady acknowledged that without empowering the women no society would make progress.
First Lady Samina Alvi, speaking at the ceremony, thanked Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan for her social welfare services and empowering women.
In her speech, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar said Pakistan and Turkey share a remarkable friendship and both countries go together.
The First Ladies also distributed Sewing Machines among the deserving women at the end of the ceremony.
