Smart lockdown to be imposed in Karachi’s four districts
KARACHI: The local administration of Karachi has decided to impose smart lockdowns in four districts of Karachi and micro-smart lockdowns in two other districts amid rising number of coronavirus cases.
Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani took this decision in a meeting with deputy commissioners and district health officers at his office in Karachi on Friday. The commissioner directed the deputy commissioners to discuss the lockdowns with the health officers.
Smart lockdown will be imposed in districts West, Central, South and East, while micro-smart lockdowns will be imposed in Korangi and Malir.
In last one day, 2,738 people tested positive for coronavirus and 36 others died because of the coronavirus in the country.
The figure of patients recovered from the virus has reached 327,542. While, there are now 33,562 active cases in the country.
