KARACHI: After the gradual increase in the number of Coronavirus cases in Central District of Karachi, micro smart lockdown has been imposed once again.
The Sindh government has sealed several UCs in Liaquatabad, North Nazimabad, North Karachi and Gulberg after identification of 407 new patients in Central District.
Smart lockdown will be enforced in the affected areas for the next 14 days, all movement in the areas will be banned while businesses of food items and pharmacies will be exempted from smart lockdown.
The administration says the affected areas will be cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis. After 9 days of lockdown in Sindh, the restrictions from markets have been lifted.
The notification issued by the Sindh government said that the bazaars in the province would be open till 8 pm, while Friday and Sunday would be safe days during which business would be completely closed. Similarly, restriction on dine-in at restaurants will continue to stay.
86 deaths due to Coronavirus infection and 3,884 new positive cases have been reported in Pakistan in a single day.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 49,506 tests were conducted and positivity ratio remained 7.84 percent. The number of total deaths due to the Coronavirus pandemic has reached 24,004.
