Slow internet in Pakistan: reason revealed

People across the country have been suffering due to the slow speed of the internet since last evening, the real reason for which has now come to light.

In this regard, the sources said that the main reason for the sudden decline in the speed of the internet is the breakdown of the 25,000 km long Asia Europe Double AE One cable.

According to reliable sources in the telecom department, the most important 40 terabyte cable has broken down near Fujairah, which has slowed down the internet speed in Pakistan.

In this regard, sources said that Internet data traffic is being transferred to other low capacity cables. Repairing a 40 terabyte cable can take several days.

Earlier in February, it was reported that the IMEWE-3 international submarine cable, which carries most of Pakistan’s internet traffic, has gone offline.

A large number of consumers were facing trouble in connectivity and some others were facing a low-speed issues.

Multiple cables transfer bandwidth to Pakistan though, but problems in even one major cable can cause trouble throughout the country.

As per the sources, repair work is ongoing, but no particular time for the final repair has been given as of yet.
