Six schools in Malir shut down after coronavirus cases surfaced

KARACHI: Six schools in Malir have been shut down after spread of coronavirus cases.

Sindh School Education and Literacy Department on Wednesday issued an order for closure of six schools including GBHHS Konkar, GBSS Model Haqqani (campus), GBSS Haji Sain Rakhio (campus), GGLSS Konkar, GBLSS Jan Muhammed Ahmedani and GBLSS Radho Jokhio in Malir district.

The education department directed the heads of the schools to follow necessary measures as per the health guidelines for educational institutes.

The department directed to close the classrooms, staff rooms and other facilities used by the infected person to be closed for at least five days by disinfecting them.

“All fellow students and staff members who were part of the same class/ came in contact with the identified case (s) have to self-quarantine themselves for five days. While the identified cases have to follow home isolation along with their families as per health guidelines,” it said.

The schools will be reopened after compliance with all the SoPs.
