According to Indian media, Delhi police have detained six additional persons in the high-profile drug case involving big star Shahrukh Khan’s son, four from the Delhi event management firm that planned the two-day journey on the cruise ship from which narcotics were found.
The arrest is the latest move in the continuing police investigation into the narcotics case following the drugs seizure. With their arrests today, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to 16, according to local India media.
Namas’cray Experience Pvt Ltd, a cruise business located in Delhi, was charged with managing the event on board Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship. It was during this occasion that the NCB stormed Cordelia on Saturday and detained eight individuals, including Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and his good friend Arbaaz Merchant.
“The organizers have been arrested on Tuesday for their role in harboring the drug syndicate. We have got electronic evidence, witnesses statements and corroborating evidence that the patrons had a drug party, the organizers had the knowledge and it was the duty of the organizers to inform us but they didn’t and the next day, the captain of the ship alerted us about the brawl between two groups after consuming drugs and that is why we have invoked the harboring charges on the organizers. It was their duty to carry a check of drugs on board,” NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede stated.
He further stated, “some of the accused hid drugs under shoe soles, some under sanitary napkins and eye lenses and medicine boxes.”
These arrests have been a big development in the recent drug case. People on social media are criticizing Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan while some celebrities such as Sunil Shetty came out in defence of him.
While under arrest, Aryan Khan accepted that he is consuming drugs for the last 4 years.
