RAWALPINDI: Six army personnel including Captain Umar Farooq were martyred and one soldier was injured in two blasts of improvised explosive device (IED) in Tehsil Shiktoi of South Waziristan.

Apart from 24-year-old Army Captain, Naib Subedar Riaz Ahmed, 37, Naib Subedar Shakeel Azad, 44, Havaldar Yunas Khan, 36, Naek Nadeem, 37, and Naek Asmat Ullah, 30, were among martyrs.

The blasts took place near border of South and North Waziristan, said media wing of armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
