Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan mourns death of Bollywood composer Wajid Khan

Pakistani celebrity singer and qawwal, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has expressed surprise at Bollywood composer-singer Wajid Khan ‘s sudden demise. The 42-year-old was a part of Sajid Wajid, a famous sibling composer duo.
According to Hindustan Times, He passed away in the early hours on Monday.
Singer Sonu Nigam confirmed the news and posted on his official social media handle: “My brother Wajid left us.”
The cause of death has not been reported yet, but unconfirmed reports have suggested that the artist was suffering from covid-19. On the other hand, a report in filmibeat.com stated that Wajid had suffered from a kidney problem over the past few years, and was reportedly on a ventilator after being recently hospitalized.
Rahat took to Twitter and posted a captioned photo with the late Bollywood singer, “I have just lost my brother today. Wajid Bhai was more than a friend and a composer to me. May Allah Bless him Jannat. Ameen.”
During the ongoing lockdown, Sajid-Wajid recently composed songs for Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, one of which was a number titled Pyaar Karona, a pop anthem that urged everyone to battle the coronavirus.
Salman had sung the song released in April and also featured the actor in the video.
Recently, the composer pair have written the unique song Salman’s Eid, Bhai Bhai, which talks about communal harmony.
Sajid-Wajid regularly collaborated with Salman Khan as composers. In the 1998 Salman superhit, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, they made their official debut.
