Sindh reports 492 new cases, 8 deaths from coronavirus

Sindh: The provincial death toll has surged to 2,647 after 8 more deaths have occurred in Sindh in the past 24 hours.

492 new cases of the virus have emerged in the last 24 hours, and once again Karachi again reported the highest new infections with 354 cases, said CM Murad Ali Shah in a statement.

The recovery rate in the province is 95% after the number of patients recovered so far stands at 139,633.

The government has been urging the public to take precautionary measures seriously as 5,507 patients are under treatment in Sindh with 5,218 of them are isolated at home, two at isolation centers, and 287 at different hospitals.

Smart lockdowns across the province have also been imposed by the authorities in an attempt to stem the spread of the virus.
