Sindh Police launch ‘Talash’ app to control street crime

The Sindh police on Tuesday launched ‘Talash’ app that can help the police, especially the investigation department, catch criminals involved in heinous crimes and the absconders, Sindh IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon said.
Sindh IG Police Ghulam Nabi Memon formally inaugurated the Talash app during a ceremony at the Central Police Office Karachi.
Speaking at the event, IG Ghulam Nabi Memon said that this app can be used as an effective and best weapon to ensure anti-crime with the help of technology and defeat the criminal elements in real sense.
He said that, “Sindh Police is increasing the capacity to ensure crime prevention with the help of technology,” further adding that, “the purpose of creating this software is to facilitate investigation process, increase the difficulties of criminals and demoralize them.”
IG Sindh further stated that with the help of technology and the use of modern techniques, the police is trying to improve all operational and investigation measures.
Referring to training of police officers regarding the technology measure, IG said, steps are being taken to make the investigation system of Sindh Police completely separate and provide modern and standard training to the officers and employees of the investigation department.
“Terrorism has become a scourge for the world and we have to ensure all individual and collective efforts to uproot this scourge for the protection of life and property, honor and reputation of our people,” Memon added.
While expressing gratitude for Sindh CM over technology funds, he said that the Chief Minister of Sindh has released funds for the acquisition of world-class technology, the aim of which is to make all police affairs more efficient and effective with the help of modern technology.
“In the first phase this app is being introduced in Karachi and soon its scope will be expanded to other districts of Sindh.” IG concluded.
