Sindh Police arrest 422 on Shab e Barat for violating lockdown

KARACHI: Sindh Police have arrested 422 people on Shab e Barat (Wednesday night) for violating lockdown orders issued by the provincial government.

Additional Inspector General Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon said 422 people were arrested for leaving homes unnecessarily and 157 cases were registered against arrested suspects. He said 448 vehicles including motorcycles and rikshaws were confiscated.

He asked people to stay at homes during lockdown. He warned that more strict action would be taken against those coming out of their homes without any reason.

The Additional IG said police was implementing the government orders in the best interest of the masses.
