Sindh IT minister confirms he actually gave statement about Google

KARACHI: A video of Sindh IT Minister Taimur Talpur has gone viral on social media in which he ostensibly claimed that the provincial government provided the system of traffic management to Google.

“If you turn on FM 88.6, it has been made by the IT department of Sindh. I would like to tell you about the (online) traffic management, it comes through our system.

“When you Google it, you find where you will get a turn, where the red line is and where the white line is. That (system) too was developed and handed over by the Sindh government to them. The system through which Google is yielding benefit, you must also do the same,” Taimur Talpur had said while addressing on the floor of the assembly.

While exclusively talking to Dialogue Pakistan, the IT minister said that the statement was just a joke with the opposition leaders. “We were only bantering with each other. It was nothing serious,” he said.
