KARACHI: The Sindh government has directed the provincial education and literacy department to register all the madressahs as education institutions.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed this while chairing a Sindh Apex Committee meeting at the CM House in Karachi. He acknowledged that madressahs played a crucial role in providing free education.

The meeting was attended by top civil and military leadership of Sindh. They discussed the National Action Plan and installation of trackers on motorcycles among other affairs.

The chief minister was told that the province had about 8,195 madressahs and imambargahs. He was apprised that earlier the Endowment Fund Department and Industries Department would register madressahs.

CM Murad said that the government would conduct survey of arteries across the province to point out potholes formed after the monsoon rains the following year. He announced to repair all the roads which were damaged due to rain.
