 Sindh govt imposes ban on pillion riding from 6-12 Muharram in Karachi

Sindh Home Department has imposed a ban on pillion riding from 6th to 12th Muharram in Karachi.

In the notification issued by the government of Sindh, it has been stated that under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), ban imposed on pillion riding from 6th of Muharram to 12th of Muharram, which will be effective from 12 o’clock tonight.

Strict action will be taken against violators, the notification warned.

According to the notification, women, children up to 12 years of age, disabled persons, senior citizens, journalists and personnel of security agencies will be exempted from pillion riding ban.

The Government of Sindh is satisfied that in order to maintain law and order situation throughout the province of Sindh and to avoid any untoward incident/mishap, it is necessary to take immediate measures,” the notification said.
