Sindh govt directs police to remove dacoits from Katcha areas
KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet on Wednesday directed police to launch an operation against dacoits hiding in pockets of katcha areas across the province.
The provincial cabinet took this decision after three people were killed and pictures of the dacoits and their children surfaced flaunting heavy weaponry.
A couple of days ago, dacoits fired a rocket on police in Shikarpur in which two police officials and a journalist were martyred, while eight others including two SHOs were wounded.
The photojournalist, Haseeb was also accompanying police during the operation in Katcha areas of Shikarpur and Sukkur.
Addressing media on Tuesday, Pakistani Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader and Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh demanded to remove IG Sindh over the negligence and he also demanded to remove dacoits of “Pakka areas” before dacoits of Katcha areas.
He alleged that the influential people belonging to the provincial government were supporting those robbers in Katcha areas.
