Sindh govt decides to open small markets from Monday
Sindh’s government has decided to open small markets on Monday, and has sought a list of small markets. Nevertheless, the federation’s approval was conditional on the opening of large markets and shopping centres.
Sindh Education and Labor Minister Saeed Ghani chaired a conference of members from different organizations and political parties within the business community. Ghani said the provincial government is aware that business has been affected by the lockdown.
The provincial government did not forbid the opening of new shopping centers, and large markets, but the Regional Coordination Committee forbade large markets to open.
He further said a list of all the province’s Sindh markets was sought. We can allow small markets to be opened, for which a list will be compiled and SOPs formed.
Saeed Ghani said they’re going to work with the federation to open up large markets and that they are going to try to address the problems as soon as possible. The Supreme Court has agreed that all steps taken with regard to the lockdown will be similar.
