Sindh govt decides to launch crackdown against ‘Polythene Bag’ makers
The Sindh government has decided to launch crackdown against those who manufacture and sell banned ‘Polythene bags’.
An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput.
During the meeting, Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab said that plastic bags are the cause of environmental pollution and are one of the reasons for blocking rain drains.
Sindh Chief Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput said that the district administration, police, KMC will take action against those who manufacture and sell plastic bags.
He directed that factories manufacturing banned plastic bags should be sealed and Section 144 should be imposed on its use.
The government will also launch an awareness campaign in which people will be informed about the harmful effects of using polythene bags.
Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Secretary Interior Ministry, Commissioner Karachi, Additional IG Karachi including all Deputy Commissioners were present in the meeting.
