 Sindh govt bans slaughtering animals at homes

KARACHI: The Sindh government has banned slaughtering animals inside or near homes during Eid-ul-Adha.

A notification issued by the Sindh Home Department read that due to the increase in the coronavirus cases, slaughtering of animals is not allowed in urban residential areas.

An open field should be chosen for animal’s sacrifice and no gathering should be held while slaughtering animals, the provincial government directed.

The Sindh Home Department has directed the commissioners, deputy commissioners and police to take action against the violators of the standard operating procedures.

The notification read that Eid prayer congregations should also be held at an open space, and more than one Eid prayer gatherings should be held at the same place at different times.

The Sindh Home Department has said that people should wear face masks while offering Eid prayers and they should avoid shaking hands and hugging after Eid prayers.
