 Sindh govt bans pillion riding on 11th, 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal

The Sindh government has decided to ban pillion riding on 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal (October 08 and 09) on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) in 13 districts of Sindh including Karachi.

According to the notification issued by the Home Department, the Sindh government has decided to ban pillion riding in 13 districts including Karachi on 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal to maintain law and order situation in the province.

A ban on pillion riding will be imposed in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Larkana, Qamber Shahdad Kot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sanghar and Karachi, with effect from Wednesday (October 5).

According to the notification, this ban will not apply to senior citizens, women, children below 12 years of age, journalists and officials of law enforcement agencies.

The ban will be applied in South District of Karachi on 8 and 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal (October 5 and 9) while in East District on 8, 11, and 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal i.e. (October 5, 7 and 9).

The notification mandates the SHOs of the concerned police stations to register cases under Section 188 of the Penal Code against those violating Section 144.

The birth anniversary of Holy Prophet (PBUH) is celebrated all over the world with religious zeal and fervor.

Milad gatherings are also being organised at various places where the scholars highlight various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
