KARACHI: The government of Sindh on Friday announced scholarships for all the high achiever students of matric and intermediate.
In the provincial budget presented by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on the floor of Sindh Assembly, scholarships to all the students securing A-1 grade in matriculation and intermediate final exams have been announced.
“This scholarship shall be provided as an incentive to students for their efforts in securing higher grades, regardless of the family income to infuse motivation in them. The scholarship amount has been fixed at Rs100,000 per student for all educational boards of Sindh,” said Murad Shah adding that a large number of deserving students would benefit from this scheme.
The Sindh government has also announced a scheme to abolish registration and examination fee for all matric and intermediate boards in the province.
“Under this scheme both fee for all matric and intermediate boards has been abolished to benefit our students. This scheme will continue in year 2019-20,” the chief minister announced in his speech to the house.
CM Murad announced relief measures for Sindh government employees and pensioners with increase of 15 percent in pay as ‘Ad hoc Relief Allowance’ for all the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-22. The pensioners would also be entitled to get 15 raise in their pensions, he added.
He also announced a Rs17,000 minimum wage.
