Sindh govt allows citizens above 18 years to get vaccinated for travelling abroad
KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has announced that vaccination of those people above 18 years old will begin on Friday (tomorrow) who need it for travelling abroad.
“From 21st May onwards, the citizens having valid student visa, iqama or work permit can get vaccinated from any Corona vaccination centre, without age restrictions. Just show your passport and valid visa and you will be vaccinated,” the health department said in a statement.
Earlier a statement was issued by the department which implied as if all the people above 18 years were allowed to get themselves vaccinated, however it issued a clarification later which read that “the 18+ vaccination is available for those who are travelling abroad and hold a valid student or work visa as some countries need vaccination confirmation to allow travel.”
The vaccine can be received 24/7 at Karachi Expo Centre.
The Sindh Health Department has directed its workers as well as the private doctors, paramedics, nurses and other health professionals to get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible. It warned that departmental action would be taken against the health professionals who did not get themselves vaccinated.
