 Sindh government announces campaign against plastic bags

Sindh: After the federal government announced to initiate a campaign against the use of plastic bags, on Thursday, the Singh government also announced to put an end on the use of plastic bags and will be starting a campaign against it from 1st October, 2019.

In a video message shared on social media, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said,

“The use of plastic bags is disastrous for the environment. We request citizens to support the campaign and help the Sindh government save the environment.”

While talking to media personnel, Barrister Murtaza, the Sindh government’s spokesperson and adviser to the CM on law, environment and coal development said,

“The provincial government will distribute cloth bags in different areas of the city.”

The adviser asked citizens, factories and shops to co-operate with the Sindh government and stop using plastic bags. He further said that action will be taken against those who would try to violate the rule according to the law after October 1st.
