KARACHI: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Sindh on Thursday apprehended Sindh Director Human Resource School Education Muhammad Hussain Soomro for taking bribe worth millions of rupees from government teachers.
According to details, on the secret information passed on by Minister Anticorruption Establishment Sindh Sohail Anwar Siyal, ACE East Zone rounded up Muhammad Hussain Soomro for taking bribe from 950 contractual IBA passed teachers (Rs1 to 5 Lacs each), in the name of Minister Anticorruption Anwer Siyal for regularisation of their services.
The ACE has traced and seized telegraphic and cellular information against the culprit. “Consequently, he is being booked in FIR being registered at New Town Police Station on the complaint of the ACE,” said sources.

Sindh ACE Deputy Director Zameer Ahmed Abbasi said confirmed that Hussain Soomro had illegaly awarded contracts to 950 teachers in public schools. He said a committee was formed after the issue of their permanency came to fore. The suspect had once again demanded five lac from each teacher. He told them that Rs20 million had to be given immediately to high-ups. “I have to transfer the money to Anwer Siyal, Murtaza Wahab and Nasir Hussain Shah,” he had said.
Zameer Abbasi said the teachers were told to give the money one last time to be a permanent teacher.
