Sindh CM directs KMC to generate income by running parks, huts under PPP

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday approved an amount of 170 million rupees to meet financial needs of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

Chairing a high level meeting on financial issues of the KMC, he directed the authorities of the corporation to run its parks and huts under public- private partnership (PPP) to increase its income.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said, “We can not leave KMC alone.” He directed the KMC’s administration to take steps to  improve financial condition and also directed to give its petrol pumps to better bidders.

On Dec 9, 2020, the Sindh cabinet chaired by Murad Ali Shah had given green light for running 66 out of order buses of the KMC.

The Sindh cabinet had decided that the buses would be handed over to a private management for five years. The buses would commute from Gulshan e Hadeed to Keamari via Shahra e Faisal.
