Sikh community observing 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak today

NANKANA SAHIB: Sikh community is observing 550th birth anniversary of spiritual leader Baba Guru Nanak all over the world on Tuesday (today).
Main ceremony in this regard will be held at Gurdwara Janam Asthan at Nankana Sahib today.
Several federal ministers will join large numbers of Sikh religion followers from world over in the ceremony. Foolproof security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in his message on this occasion said opening of Kartarpur corridor had rejuvenated the joys of Sikh community and it was another historic step of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for promotion of religious harmony.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has congratulated the Sikh community on the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said the birthday of Baba Guru Nanak was a festival of joy and religious fervour.
He said that Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the best example of religious tolerance and inter-faith harmony.
The chief minister said that Baba Guru Nanak promoted the message of brotherhood and the government welcomed the Sikh community coming to Punjab for attending the birthday celebrations.
He said that Sikhs were enjoying complete freedom to live according to their faith in Pakistan.
Sardar Usman Buzdar said that special attention was being paid to the maintenance, renovation and security of Sikh community’s worship places.
On Nov 4, the federal government had released commemorative stamps on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
Pakistan Post had decided to establish a post office at Kartarpur complex to facilitate Sikh pilgrims while another post office would be opened at Nankana Sahib.
The commemorative stamps would also be provided in 192 member countries of Universal Postal Union.
