Late Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala’s last song, released after his death, has been removed from YouTube in India, which is another disappointing development for his devoted fan following.
According to Indian media reports, Sidhu Moose Wala’s last song ‘SYL’, which was released on the water issue of Punjab, has been removed from YouTube only in India, but users from other parts of the world can watch this song on YouTube.
The SYL (Sutlej-Yamna Link) is actually a 214 km long canal that has been a source of contention between Punjab and Haryana for more than three decades.
In addition, Sidhu’s song depicts various conflicts such as undivided Punjab, 1984 Sikh Riots, farmer laws, Sikh flag hoisting at the Red Fort during the farmer agitation, and Sikh militants
It is believed that the song has been removed from YouTube due to its controversy.
According to reports, due to a legal complaint by the Indian government, Sidhu Moose Wala’s song is not available to users in India.
The song, which was released on June 23, was immediately viewed on YouTube and has been viewed more than 28 million times.
For the unversed, Sidhu was shot dead on May 29. The incident took place a day after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab police among 424 others.
